Around the corner is Alamo Square with its world famous views of the Painted Ladies and San Francisco downtown. This park also has a recently renovated playground for children. Within strolling distance are Haight Ashbury, which was the epicenter of the hippie culture and retains a certain charisma to this day, Japantown with its delicious restaurants, Castro district with its uniqueness and Golden Gate Park with famous museums and greenery. Highly regarded restaurants, such as Nopa, are a stone's throw away. There are also many great coffee shops and nightlife. Every other attraction in San Francisco is a short cab or bus ride away. There are four bus lines in a 2 block radius that take you nearly everywhere you need to go in San Francisco.

I must begin by saying that the staff at Boutikia is very helpful, friendly and professional. We had a problem with the Direct TV (very possibly operator error) and they had someone out to fix the problem almost immediately! The flat has lots of space and the garden in the back is lovely in mid-December; I'd love to see it in June! the flat is within walking distance to almost anything you might need; very close to bus lines. It was easy for us to get around, and we're from Kansas! That being said, Fell St. is a busy street, so if you sleep in the very pretty front bedroom, expect plenty of traffic noise. The rest of the flat is as quiet as those staying above you allow it to be. Fortunately we did not have a car, as parking is impossibly scarce. Beds are comfy! The picture of the flat on their website allowed us to believe that the flat was much brighter than it actually is, especially the middle bedroom. This was the room that had stains on the walls from some liquid that had been spilled. I had to pull out the dresser in the back bedroom to retrieve something I had dropped and found an old sock consumed by old dust, and lots of it. Generally despite the space and nice furnishings, the flat felt a bit dingy and not very clean. This flat is a lot of space for a great price (as San Francisco rentals go) with a convenient location (I gave it only 3 stars for location due to the street traffic) but unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. A couple of table lamps and a little more attention to detail would improve this flat immensely!
Our family really enjoyed staying at alamo Garden apartment. The size was perfect and we loved being able to sit in the garden area. We were taken care of promptly when the fuse blew in the kitchen. It was quite a bit of money to have to strip our own beds at the end of our stay considering there was a housekeeping fee and she showed up 2 hours early. We had a great time. Thank you.
Excellent large flat located just south of alamo Sq (Fell St south side between Scott and Pierce). Pictures accurately reflect the apartment. we had the downstairs garden appt for a family of 5 and the three beds/2 baths were great. Wifi and tv worked fine, terrace was great (though July 2011 drizzly morning limited our use a bit, but the afternoons were lovely). Lick of paint would help, but the Victorian nature of the house is great. Our only concern before arriving was the proximity to the western addition and some negative safety comments about that area. However the flat is on the far side of alamo Sq from the addition and the area around alamo Square was fine arriving and leaving at different hours (taxi when it was too late), though a local off-licence (liquor store?) at Fell and Divisadero was pretty scary at midnight - lots of less-than-savoury characters! Getting into central san Francisco was easy - just walk down the hill past lovely Victorian houses to the tram at Duboce Park and go into town or out to Sunset (great beaches and views). Coming back, if you want avoid the trudge uphill from the tram (we did!) take the 21 bus from Market to alamo Sq (tip: middle stop on the Sq not the first one or it's another uphill walk) and walk one easy block down to Fell St. Had a great time in SF and this flat was an excellent base.
Photos are very accurate for the flat. The location is good. Using public transportation from this flat is easy. We stayed 6 nights. Everything worked great and it is nice having a washer and dryer when traveling with young children. Alamo Square is one block away and it has a nice playground. Would stay there again if we needed 3 bedrooms.
Unless you are a Hotel Fan, this is fantastic!!! Everything was as promised. No check in, just arrive in you are home!!! Full equipment, but full. You have all you need, even the products to use the laundry!!!
